Therapists try to help you find peace and be happy with where you are, in general in your life. However, sometimes you only need or want help in a specific area of your life—perhaps it’s transitioning to a new job, improving your parenting skills, or something else that a therapist is not truly trained to deal with. In those circumstances, a coach might be a better choice for you.
Coaches provide a framework to help you reach specific goals or improve skills, and they will encourage and motivate you toward those goals. A coach helps you become the person you want to be. As such, coaches will often assign homework or tasks for you to do between sessions.
