As mentioned in tool 1.3 Disconnect, distractions, even if they exist just for a second, will eat into your productivity. Similarly, having your visual field cluttered will be a distraction. Whether it’s extra bookmarks and shortcuts on your computer desktop and clutter on your physical desk, that stuff visually interrupts your thoughts and drains your energy the same way hearing beeps, clicks, and confirmations in the background of other processes going on, can divert your attention. If you’re feeling drained, scattered, or even frustrated because you’re having difficulty concentrating, you may want to get your hands on all the distractions and do whatever you can to eliminate them.
